A Weekend in Dubai
عطلة نهاية أسبوع في دبي
Tall towers, old markets and desert adventures: how to spend two perfect days in Dubai.
Dubai is one of the most exciting cities in the world. It has very tall buildings, huge shopping centres and beautiful beaches. But it also has old markets and a long history. Here is a plan for a weekend there.
Saturday morning: Old Dubai
Start your day in Al Fahidi, the old part of the city. Walk through the narrow streets and look at the traditional houses with wind towers. Then take an abra — a small wooden boat — across Dubai Creek. It only costs one dirham!
On the other side, visit the Gold Souq and the Spice Souq. The smell of the spices is wonderful. Don't be afraid to ask for a better price.
Saturday afternoon: Up in the sky
In the afternoon, go to the Burj Khalifa. It is the tallest building in the world, at 828 metres. Take the lift to the viewing platform and enjoy the amazing view. In the evening, watch the Dubai Fountain show. The water dances to music!
Sunday: Desert adventure
On Sunday, book a desert safari. A driver takes you over the sand dunes in a 4x4 car. It's exciting, but hold on tight! After that, you can ride a camel, try sandboarding and eat a delicious dinner under the stars.
Dubai is hot, so the best time to visit is between November and March. Wear comfortable shoes, drink a lot of water and have fun!
