Robots in Our Homes

When we think of robots, we often imagine metal people from science-fiction films. But today, many homes already have robots. They just don't look like people!

Robot vacuum cleaners are very popular. They are small and round, and they move around the house on their own. They clean the floor while you are at work or school. When the battery is low, they go back to their charger.

Many families have a smart speaker. You can talk to it and ask questions like "What's the weather today?" or "Play my favourite song." Some speakers can also turn on the lights or the air conditioner.

There are also robots for the kitchen. Some machines can cook a whole meal. You put in the ingredients, choose a recipe and wait. In some restaurants, robots already make coffee and burgers!

Robots can save us time and help older people at home. But some people worry. They think robots might take people's jobs, or that we will become lazy. What do you think? Would you like a robot in your house?
