How to Learn a Language Online
كيف تتعلم لغة عبر الإنترنت
Apps, videos, podcasts and online tutors: seven practical tips to make real progress from home.
Thanks to the internet, you can learn almost any language without leaving your home. But with so many apps and websites, it's easy to feel lost. Here are seven tips to help you make real progress.
1. Set a clear goal
Do you want to pass an exam, travel, or speak with colleagues? A clear goal will help you choose the right materials and stay motivated.
2. Little and often
Studying for 15 minutes every day is better than studying for three hours once a week. Your brain remembers information better when you review it regularly.
3. Learn words in context
Instead of learning long lists of single words, learn them in sentences. This helps you understand how words are really used.
4. Listen every day
Podcasts, YouTube videos and films are excellent for improving your listening. Start with subtitles in your language, then switch to English subtitles, and finally try without any.
5. Speak from the start
Many learners wait until they are "ready" to speak, but that day never comes. Find a language exchange partner or an online tutor and start talking, even if you make mistakes.
6. Play games
Games make learning fun and help you remember vocabulary without feeling like you are studying. Try the games on Easy Learn!
7. Track your progress
Keep a record of what you have learned. Seeing your progress — like a daily streak or test score — is a great motivation to keep going. Remember: every expert was once a beginner.
