ملاحظات مهمة للمتعلم العربي
مع الأرقام نستخدم by لمقدار الزيادة وto للرقم الجديد، مثل The price went up by 5 riyals. وThe price went up to 20 riyals. أما increase وrise فبمعنى go up، لكنهما أكثر رسمية.
The prices went up with 10%.
The prices went up by 10%.
مقدار الزيادة أو النقص يأتي بعد by وليس with؛ فالباء في «ارتفعت الأسعار بنسبة ١٠٪» تقابلها هنا by.
