الفرق بين stand وstand up: stand up تصف حركة النهوض من الجلوس، أما stand فتصف حالة الوقوف: We stood in line for an hour. وعكس stand up هو sit down. ولا تخلط بينها وبين get up التي تعني غالباً النهوض من السرير.
